Shinganji Kurenai is a Taimanin—a half-vampire who chooses to live as a demon-hunter. She received swordsmanship instruction from her grandfather, the Fuuma Eight-General Shinganji Gen-an, and was once slated to inherit his position. However, after the Fuuma clan fell from grace for aiding the family during an internal conflict, Kurenai left the Fuuma village and now operates as a free agent with no allegiance. She wields the twin short swords "Shirakami" and "Kōma," passed down from the former Eight-General. Proud of her extraordinary combat prowess derived from her half-vampire physiology, she excels at the signature technique "Whirlwind Formation," slicing vacuum with her rapidly-maneuvered blades.
