(Cerastes, she/her) Cerastes is a high-rank demon whose upper body is human and lower body that of a massive serpent, belonging to the naga clan of snake deities. She works as a mercenary in the Human Realm and views the ever-present death of mercenary life as her true calling. Born and raised by humans, she lacks awareness of her naga heritage. She disguises herself as a human using a mask purchased from a demon scientist, but reverts to her true form in battle. While nagas can normally shapeshift at will, Cerastes, having been raised by humans, cannot and thus relies on the mask's power. Traumatized from childhood contempt as a snake-human, she harbors strong hostility toward humans, especially the lofty and the justice-spreading Taimanin, whom she despises. Hearing rumors of a fellow naga warrior named Kaliya in the Human Realm, she meets Fuuma Kotaro while searching for her.
