After completing her mission in Japan, Aina Winchester returns to the United States. Shortly after her arrival, she heads to the central research facility to upgrade her weaponry. Her armament is the high-firepower laser called the Buster Shooter, which requires her to activate the demonic eye she had transplanted into her right socket as its power source, so she keeps the eye-patch off. When she unleashes the Buster Shooter at full power, the laser turns red and her right eye glows red as well. Aina's deceased parents were U.S. congressmen. Soon after she returns, a distant relative who is also a congressman contacts her, claiming to have a marriage proposal. He intends to use her as a pawn in a political marriage. Though she firmly refuses, the relative disregards her wishes, detains her, and attempts to force the marriage.
