The male Taimanin scout was dispatched ahead of the main force to conduct reconnaissance in enemy territory. Usually, those without awakened "Ninjutsu" take on this duty. Their goal is to survive and return with intelligence for the main unit. Scouts are selected for superior mobility, stealth, and agility rather than raw combat power, yet, as Taimanin, they possess master-level combat skills, so complacency is never an option.
