Igawa Asagi exudes a mature aura despite her youth. She is a kunoichi who wields the rare, ability-type ninjutsu "Haya no Jutsu." As the heir of the main line of the prestigious Igawa family, she is expected to become the next leader of the Taimanin, but she refused admission to Gosha Academy—the Taimanin training institute—saying, "I won't become the government's dog," and now attends a regular school. Her father, Igawa Shuzen (her mother, Igawa Kiku, died of illness in childhood), fell in battle while Asagi was still a girl on a Taimanin mission; since then she has managed his estate, sometimes taking part-time jobs to live independently. The loss of her parents has left her with a deep distrust of the government. She is the type who helps the weak and challenges the strong. A quiet idealist who acts before she speaks, she can act faux-malicious to hide her embarrassment. She has a younger sister, Sakura, for whom she has acted as both father and mother since their parents' death, and she constantly worries about her. Her weapon is the ninja sword "Akki Rokumon," a keepsake of her father. Though she has mastered the sword style "Itsutō-ryū," she dislikes staining her father's heirloom with evil blood and prefers to rely on hand-to-hand combat. She practices the ninja martial art "Taimashakuhō," specializing in foot techniques called "Tōkyaku." Combined with her "Haya no Jutsu," her Tōkyaku delivers an invisible, ultra-fast barrage of kicks that shatters enemies in an instant.
