Hagakure Machiko is a Taimanin and one of the eight Fuuma generals, the head of the Hagakure clan. After her father fell in battle against Asagi and the Fuuma school, she assumed leadership at a young age. She later reconciled with Asagi and, instead of joining Gosha, she ruled a corner of the dark city independently. When Nisha Gaiza rebelled, she chose to aid him. However, she has no interest in "political" motives such as avenging her father or reviving the Fuuma school; she follows her instincts to protect the Hagakure clan's interests and enjoy the fight. She is famed for her mastery of the heavy sword. Her ninjutsu "Leaf Technique" scatters leaves to conceal her form. She constantly wears a coat of black leaves over her Taimanin suit; when she activates her ninjutsu, black leaves burst from the coat, instantly hiding her, and she reappears only after she has cleaved her enemy in two.
