Saya NEO is an artificial demon created by the U.S. alliance using cells from Saya that remained in the underground Tokyo Kingdom facility. Based on the original's awakening data, she was engineered to eliminate the instability of the first generation's awakening state, foregoing the human-to-awakened transformation and aiming for efficient use as a bio-weapon. However, she went berserk during testing, destroyed the U.S. research lab, and escaped. Lacking the master control once used on the original Oboro clone, she now roams as a rogue demon, indulging in wanton slaughter. Though she cannot undergo the dramatic transformations of the original, controlled demonic energy grants her combat power surpassing that of the first generation.
