The Kanda Brigade soldier serves under Colonel Kanda in the Marine Self-Defense Force's Kanda Brigade. The brigade was formed as a special marine unit to retake occupied islands and operates as an independent force directly commanded by the prime minister, essentially functioning as a mercenary group. During wartime, its members primarily engaged in illicit activities such as intelligence work, high-profile assassinations, and rear-area disruption. The Kanda Brigade is feared even by allies and is suspected of numerous war crimes, including civilian massacres, looting, and sexual violence, yet its effectiveness and versatility kept it in high demand by those in power. After the war, its members were effectively confined to a remote northern island, but they continued to receive dirty jobs from various authorities. Equipped with cutting-edge gear, they are experts in close-quarter combat.
