Karina Cochrane is a former combat-pilot who now commands a new unit that counters flying demons. The United States has previously relied on jets and helicopters to fight aerial demons, but those weapons lack maneuverability and stealth, making them ill-suited against small beasts and humanoid demons. Karina herself was shot down by a flying demon during her pilot days, underwent treatment and rehab, and then volunteered for a newly formed squad that equips personal flight units. After excelling in grueling training and tests, she was promoted to squad leader. Their new gear draws on the wind-style abilities of Taimanin, granting high mobility, rapid turning, and an air-powered high-velocity rifle capable of piercing large beasts. Because lightweight bodies improve endurance, all squad members are female. Karina possesses keen motion vision, quick reflexes, and a body that tolerates pressure changes, yet she is extremely delicate and cautious. She spends more time than anyone checking and maintaining the equipment. Having once been shot down, she harbors a strong drive to oppose demons, which also borders on admiration for the demons' superior aerial prowess. Secretly, she worries that she has the smallest bust in the unit, but outwardly she brushes it off as "better aerodynamics."
