Kise Hotaru is a Taimanin enrolled at Gosha Academy. She has a bright, helpful personality that naturally draws people to her. Because of her highly versatile and unique abilities, she is also selected for combat missions. She dislikes conflict, but she cannot stand demons or organizations that misuse Demon Realm technology, so she eagerly accepts any assignment that lets her stop them. She has long admired Yatsu Murasaki, who possessed adult-level Taimanin power even as a student, and she trains with her whenever she has free time after class. Her use of a battle axe stems from that admiration. The heavy, destructive axe pairs well with her ability to manipulate the weight of objects, though its bulk makes transport cumbersome. She devotes herself daily to missions and studies, but on rare days off she enjoys age-appropriate shopping and outings. Many classmates seek her company because of her caring, unpretentious nature, so outings are always in large groups; still, she hopes to one day go on a private date with someone special.
