Kuroda Tomoe is an apprentice Taimanin attending Gosha Academy. Born into a prestigious samurai family renowned among Taimanin, she has endured harsh training since childhood. Thanks to that, despite having little real-combat experience, she earns high praise from even captain-ranked Taimanin for her close-quarters fighting. Raised with strict discipline, she places an almost excessive emphasis on rules and regulations. While she will confront anyone who breaks the rules head-on, she also throws herself completely into those she trusts, never doubting them. After entering Gosha Academy, she met combat instructor Hasuma Reiko, whose strict yet fair guidance and fierce battles captured her heart. Seeing in Reiko the ideal she had only vaguely imagined, Tomoe became devoted to her, striving relentlessly to get even a little closer. Her devotion is said to be "like that of a true believer."
