Tamamo is a demon woman who has lived for ages. Her origins and history are shrouded in mystery. Though apparently from the Demon Realm, she has resided in the Human Realm since ancient times, concealing her identity and adopting countless aliases while traversing the world's underworld. "Tamamo" is merely the name she currently uses. She calls herself "still just a twenty-something girl," and her acting skills are sufficient to make others believe it; she maintains a voluptuous yet youthful body and beauty. She can draw power from objects imbued with human desire, using that energy to sustain her magical power and preserve her youthful form and life. To that end, she seduces men of status and wealth, coaxing them into spending exorbitant amounts or valuable items until they're ruined, then discarding them without a second thought. She remains in the Human Realm because she was once captivated by a uniquely human emotion she calls "pure greed"—a clear, untainted yearning she felt long ago, and she now seeks to claim it as her own. "Pure greed" arises from the human struggle between restraint and desire and does not stem from a demon's dark cravings. She believes that only those who strongly pursue themselves yet do not succumb to desire can attain that state. However, as humanity's corruption deepens, "pure greed" drifts farther away. When her demonic nature risks being exposed, she vanishes, but if she likes a place or senses that her target is within reach, she'll linger as long as possible.
