Shishimura Koro is a Taimanin and student at Gosha Academy. She belongs to the Gosha Discipline Squad, and the squad leader, Homare Nao, is her childhood friend. She appears as a gloomy, hidden beauty, but she's actually talkative; her voice is so soft that people assume she's taciturn. For some reason, Homare Nao alone can hear her clearly. Koro wields the soul-stealing technique "Yomi-roku," allowing her to touch corpses and read the spirits' information—ranging from cause of death and genetic data to lingering thoughts and memories. She's essentially Gosha's super forensic doctor. However, extracting deep information requires prolonged concentration, and missing body parts reduce the data she can obtain. She cannot read living humans, but if a detached part—like a strand of hair—loses its life force, she can extract information proportionally to its size. She is also a master of the Ittō style, a top-tier iaijutsu swordsman. Rumors claim she performs ultra-fast iaijutsu with a spirit-hand, though the truth remains uncertain.
