She is a young oni girl living in Yomiha, working as a signboard girl at a street Chinese restaurant. Her true identity is that of a master of the oni tribe's secret martial art, "Kido Hakkei", which combines exceptional physical abilities and "Kido". She was raised as an assassin from a young age by her master, who told her it was for the sake of their tribe. When she attacked a certain Taimanin on a mission, she was defeated and had a seal talisman stuck to her forehead. The curse contained in the talisman is "do not hurt people", and breaking it would greatly consume her energy. Having failed her mission and been sealed, Xiaolei was expelled from her tribe for being a disgrace. She is not allowed to return to her hometown until she lifts the curse and redeems herself, so she is currently hiding in Yomiha while searching for the Taimanin who is her arch-nemesis. She has a charming personality and is liked by the people of Yomiha, but her oni-like recklessness and childishness also attract those with ulterior motives.
