She was born into a long-standing Taimanin family. The Yanagi line possesses the hereditary ability to generate toxins within their bodies and is immune to all poisons. Mutsuho is no exception; after graduating from the academy she mainly undertakes scouting, infiltration and assassination missions. She often puts herself in dangerous situations—deliberately taking enemy attacks or allowing herself to be captured—believing that risking her own life to slay foes suits her best. Because of her lineage and physiology she has given up on ordinary romance and a normal life, though deep down she still longs for them. This contradiction has forged a brooding personality, leading her to mutter things like, "People who are all happy… I wish they'd just die." Recently, after meeting a certain man, she's trying to change herself, participating more positively in missions, testing various equipment, though the entrenched image remains; she's still praised for "having an assassin vibe" whenever she brandishes a knife.
