She is a demon girl who wields cursed arts. She runs a modest charm shop in a shadowy corner of the city, making a living. Though her skill as a sorceress is solid, she's timid and extremely shy, unable to meet a customer's gaze and trembling in fear, which leaves her shop eerily quiet. She rarely leaves the premises, spending her days muttering to herself in the backroom while conducting dubious rituals and research. Even when patrons do appear, she often doesn't notice them, and if spoken to she becomes wildly erratic, causing business to dwindle further. The runes that float on her limbs are a trait of her race, etched into her body from birth. They augment her curses and solidify her power. While most only display such markings on a single body part, she bears them on both hands and feet—a talent said to appear only once every hundred years, though she rates herself poorly. At the Yomihara Christmas party she was assigned the reindeer role, but Merry, who turns bright red when meeting people, fell into a paranoid fear of being laughed at. Yet that Christmas, the town council lady said that in dark Yomihara, Merry's shining runes would be useful. Even the usually whiny Merry was encouraged by those words and resolved to give it her all tonight.
