She is a Taimanin afflicted with a half-human, half-beast curse. With her high mobility, combining the physical abilities of a wolf and wind magic, she excels at using her short sword and demon-slaying bow in a versatile fighting style. The half-beast curse was cast upon her by a demon she once fought, causing her to occasionally succumb to violent impulses and destructive behavior. To suppress these impulses, she uses a special sedative provided by Gosha while searching for a way to lift the curse alongside her missions. As a member of a team primarily tasked with reconnaissance, she keeps her distance from others to avoid drawing them into her curse. Even when her comrades show her affection, she often hesitates to accept it. Her expression is usually stern, but her emotions tend to manifest through her ears and tail. Hailing from a shrine, Kaede was raised as the sole heir and exhibits a refined upbringing, albeit with a lack of charm, and her words and actions occasionally reveal her kindness. Due to her sheltered life, she is often naive about the world and teased by her colleagues. Her favorite foods are bitter green tea and bean-filled daifuku, and her hobby is forest bathing while playing with birds and small animals, although the curse has caused most wild animals to shun her.
