She is a student Taimanin who wields the powerful hypnotic ability "Empathy Reception Technique." By holding a strong will and conveying it, she can manipulate opponents. As long as she can achieve "communication," any method works—if she wishes, she can control not only words and text but also glances and gestures. Ordinary humans and demons cannot resist this overwhelming technique, but she suffers a fatal flaw: she's extremely shy and terribly bad at asserting herself. Instructors constantly urge her to "work on your communication." Though timid and poor at socializing, she isn't a misanthrope; those around her understand and accommodate her. She holds an odd reverence for people with strong communication skills. Her vivid imagination leads her to mutter to herself when alone. At New Year's, Miiko decided to visit a shrine that seemed empty, avoiding the crowded dawn of January 1st and sneaking in before sunrise. She managed a quiet prayer, but on her way out she passed a shrine maiden and, captivated by her cuteness, whispered "I'd love to try that outfit." Hearing this, the maiden didn't hesitate—she stripped off her own robes and chased after Miiko, pressing the clothing onto her. When Miiko begged, "Please put my clothes back on!" the maiden instead stripped Miiko's garments and began wearing them herself. Resigned, Miiko put on the shrine maiden's attire and, by force of circumstance, ended up performing the shrine duties.
