She was a mutant kept as a pet-and-throwaway gun for a U.S. gang. After Fuuma Kotaro and his crew smashed the gang, she's adored him as "Aniki." She had no name until he muttered "Dazame," which she liked and turned into Dajame. She loves sharks and constantly wonders whether she should be an anti-shark ninja, an anti-demon shark, or a shark demon-ninja. Born with razor-sharp teeth, insane bite force, and a shark-like urge to gnaw anything, her parents, desperate over her abnormality, let a U.S. agency researching super-humans take her in under the pretense of a check-up. Her parents never came back, and she became a research subject. Years later she escaped, lived as a street child, then was taken in by the gang after being fed. Lacking proper education, she's a top-class combatant but obedient and simple, so she's treated roughly like a pet. Whether lucky or not, her indestructible durability lets her survive abuse, which only worsens her treatment. Because of this harsh life and her difficulty fitting into normal society, Kotaro protects her. She loves loud noises and especially goes wild at the pachinko slots in Japanese game centers. She constantly shouts "Gyāon-bari-n…!" echoing the gunfire she grew up with. Kotaro was shocked by her sheer cluelessness, and even more so that she's older than him.
