Arnetes is a combat robot created by the United States. While the military has prototyped many combat robots, they were inferior in functionality and cost compared to cyborgs and piloted exoskeletons. By analyzing and applying demon-realm necromancy and puppet techniques, a path to high-performance autonomous robots was discovered, prompting the United States to launch a project and secure a budget for mass production. However, Dr. Rene, who slipped into the development team, used the funds to build a single prototype, draining the entire budget. Though expelled from the project, the prototype's performance was so high that the remaining members completed it as an autonomous combat robot. Incorporating cultured organic material allows the robot to draw energy from food as well as external power sources, and it successfully employs bio-electric control and autonomous intelligence. Initially intended to be gender-neutral, Rene's decision to use a female chassis gave her a permanent female personality. Despite being programmed to be obedient and emotionless, she naturally makes condescending remarks toward humans. She follows mission orders precisely, but her oddly rude demeanor constantly troubles the researchers.
