Kurahashi Hokuto is a student sorcerer at the Kyoto onmyōji training institute, Gogyō Academy. She excels at barrier magic using shikigami and is counted among the candidates to become the second generation of the era's strongest barrier master, Kibino Miki. Coming from a distinguished line of sorcerers who have fought demons for generations, she has received elite education as a sheltered daughter.
