She is a Taimanin who uses the Wave Technique, a special being visible only to the protagonist. Because of the influence of "memories of a past life," the protagonist could see her only in the library, calling her "Library-girl Shizuko." After incidents where she was trapped in the library and attacked by a mysterious boy, the protagonist began interacting with him and senior Shishimura Koro. By borrowing Koro's body through his Soul-Escape Technique, she can wield the Wave Technique more powerfully. Their combined swordsplay and her Wave Technique have forged a new combat style. Envious of Koro's story about last year's wedding drama, Shizui said she wants to wear a wedding dress and go on a mission with the protagonist. The protagonist tried to brush it off as an impossible request, but when Shizui suggested "if there's no mission, we could just have a real wedding," he arranged a mission that makes use of the dress. This time she's again acting through Koro's body, and Koro himself said, "I've always wanted to try on a dress too," making it a true win-win.
