She is a Taimanin student of Gosha, with an arm that has turned black like coal, from which she can release black smoke and use her smoke concealment technique freely. This black smoke can be used for stealth or disruption, and she can control its composition. She used to dislike her smoky ninja techniques, but after being inspired by Shido Rinka, another smoke concealment user, she has stopped being humble and now looks up to Rinka as "o-neesama", striving to become strong and noble like her every day. Ibuki has been given a custom swimsuit with an arm cover to wear on water-based missions to prevent water from affecting her arm.
