She is a Taimanin and a teacher at Gosha Academy, serving as the class head for the protagonists. Her father, Ryuuzen Kunitsugu, was a butler for the Shinganji family, but after the fall of Shinganji Gen-an he joined Gosha, and Tomoko rose to prominence as a Taimanin of Gosha. She wields the Evil Eye and Thousand-Hand Empathy, able to summon "spiritual arms" around herself to fight or control them. It is said she can manipulate up to a thousand such arms, earning her the title "Thousand-Hand Tomoko."
