Nagiriin Ryou is a student Taimanin attending Gosha Academy. She wields the "Flame Soul Demon" technique linked to soul-stealing, allowing her to gather and store strong thoughts drifting around the living and dead, then manipulate them as fire. The pale blue flame is called an Enki, and it possesses a "will" based on the collected thoughts. Normally an Enki's will is simple and weak, making it easy to command, but her ability to gather thoughts is unusually strong, so the Enki she commands not only has a clear will but even a self-identity capable of constructing a physical body. Consequently, each time she uses the technique it tries to seize her own body. When the power first manifested, it nearly possessed her and went berserk, only being restrained by her parents' strength. After intensive training she now controls the output, allowing her to command only a portion of the materialized Enki. During this process she sacrifices part of her own flesh to the Enki, causing horns to sprout on her head while the technique is active. Fully aware of the danger of her art, she keeps people at a distance and avoids deep relationships. She deliberately speaks coldly and bluntly, yet beneath that she is kind and lonely, watching people even after she pushes them away. Her technique also lets her read others' thoughts, so she quietly offers help to classmates in trouble, earning a friendly but measured rapport. In her room she hoards cute plushies and secretly talks to them.
