Ishikawa Amu is a Taimanin who wields the rare ninjutsu "Roadside Stone," a stone-throwing technique. Born as a low-rank ninja serving the Fuuma clan, she is a junior to Fuuma Kotaro at the academy. "Roadside Stone" makes her blend into the surroundings as if she were just a pebble on the road, completely erasing her presence; once activated, no matter how she cries or shouts, enemies cannot detect her. She's shy and self-conscious, often said to have no presence even without using ninjutsu. Her lack of presence and her unnoticed perseverance earned her recognition from the Taimanin Library, and she was appointed leader of the first squad of the Fuuma family's elite guard. However, when something brings her down, she has a bad habit of trying to become a "worthless person" herself—throwing money at gambling, attempting homework on the last day of summer break, and generally indulging in every self-destructive behavior she can think of.
