She is a Taimanin of the Fuuma clan, a wood jutsu user who manipulates wood spirits. The wood spirits can possess inorganic objects, move freely, enhance weapons, and perform reconnaissance, all in response to her wishes. The Izumo family is a renowned house within the Fuuma clan, having produced many exceptional ninja. Kinu is one of them. She has a gentle and kind personality, but can be very intimidating when angered, as her name suggests both silk and devil's wrath. She married a fellow Fuuma Taimanin, Bunko, and gave birth to a daughter named Tsuru.
