She was born into a long-standing Taimanin family. The Yanagi line has the hereditary ability to generate toxins within their bodies and is resistant to all poisons. Mutsuho is no exception; after graduating from the academy she mainly takes on scouting, infiltration, and assassination missions. She often puts herself in dangerous situations—deliberately taking enemy attacks or allowing herself to be captured—believing that risking her own life to slay foes suits her best. While she has given up ordinary romance and a normal life because of her lineage and physiology, deep down she still longs for them. This contradiction has shaped a brooding personality, and she sometimes mutters things like "People who are all happy… I wish they'd just die." Recently, through meeting a certain man, she seems to be trying to change herself little by little, becoming more positive in missions and testing various equipment to handle many situations. Stranded in the harsh Demon Realm, Mutsuho obtained a custom-forged tachi. Forged from a special steel that allows toxin penetration, a strike from this blade causes the poison she creates to circulate rapidly, killing even large demons in an instant. She wields this new weapon alongside her existing gear, throwing herself into battle in the Demon Realm.
