She is a student Taimanin born of a water-dwelling demon mother and a Taimanin father. Her father fell in love with her mother after being wounded while protecting her during a mission against water demons, and their passionate courtship led to Isana's birth. She spent her early childhood living in the sea with her mother, but a demon raid targeting her mother's power killed her father. To keep her safe, her mother entrusted her to Gosha Academy. She possesses a blend of her father's water-jutsu and her mother's aquatic demon abilities, and is expected to excel on the front lines. Because she is self-conscious about her heritage and her unmistakably non-human appearance, she finds it hard to get along with others. Still, she tries to look like everyone else, paying attention to nails and fashion. Gosha is home to many different races, and while they're accustomed to non-human looks, they treat Isana gently without forcing closeness. She is shy and has low self-esteem, yet stubborn. She may say things that push people away, but she's actually lonely. Lately she enjoys posting nails and accessories on social media for compliments.
