Emily Simmons is a 21-year-old genius scientist who develops prosthetic limbs to replace lost body parts. In combat she serves as a medic and corpsman, supporting the wounded. She possesses "instant memory" that lets her recall anything she sees like a photograph, and "parallel thinking" that allows her to process many things at once. She loves reading, prefers rear-line support, but excels in combat using powered exoskeletons. She opposes the nomad lifestyle and, while interested in Taimanin, views them skeptically. She believes that powers usable only by a select few have no value, and that universally applicable chemical technology is the true mark of excellence. She studies Taimanin abilities to advance human science and medicine, worships technology that anyone can use to achieve results, and pursues her ideals to help people. Generally calm and kind, she has a mad-scientist streak that can go berserk when her research subjects are involved.
