Kuonji R. Spica is a Taimanin agent attached to a special U.S. agency. She excels at the ninja art "Bubble" that creates particle-enhanced bubbles from moisture in the air. She is the daughter of a Taimanin who fell in love with a U.S. agent sent to Japan and defected to the United States. Her parents were killed on a Nomad-related mission when she was a child, leaving her with a deep grudge against the Nomads. After their death, she was kidnapped by hard-line anti-demon factions of the agency and used as a test subject in a research institute studying demon particles, trading her cooperation for combat training that would let her avenge her parents. The institute's project aimed to create designer babies and artificial Taimanin using Taimanin cells, but it failed despite huge costs and was shut down. She was slated for execution to keep the project secret, but because she knew nothing of the details and possessed outstanding combat skills honed for revenge, she was transferred to a special unit handling demon cases. In her spare time she fell in love with Japanese Sengoku-era dramas, learned swordsmanship out of admiration for samurai, and also trained with pistols, developing a fighting style that wields a katana and a gun simultaneously. She's cheerful, good-looking, energetic, and loves alcohol, though she's terribly weak when it comes to romance.
