Akiyama Rinko is Mizuki Yukikaze's senior Taimanin. She is a master of the sword art Itsutō-ryū, a tradition passed down through generations of ninjas in the Village of Shinobi. She is hailed as the strongest swordswoman among the Taimanin and is also called the "Demon-slaying Taimanin." One night, while staying late at school for her regular training, she ran into Yukikaze, who had come to retrieve something she'd forgotten. Rinko, unafraid of ghosts, accompanied her into the night-time Gosha Academy, where Yukikaze would experience a terrifying ordeal. Rinko, who isn't scared of ghosts at all, simply said, "Whatever shows up, I'll just cut it down," displaying her usual boar-fighting Taimanin mindset.
